Montego Bay Needs A New Public Hospital

US$110 Million Oyster Bay Hotel So if it cost US $20 million to build Hospiten, which has 22 beds, that means with the US$110 million used to build Oyster Bay hotel, 5 public hospital could have been built to relieve the pressure caused by overcrowding at Cornwall Regional Hospital. How many luxury hotels are there in Montego Bay, a city of 80,000 people? And how many public hospitals? People wake up! You have been scammed by the government! Stop believing the lies that there is no money to build new hospital! Lies! Lies! All Lies!!!

Hey friends I just wanted to share this article in the link below US$800 Million Hospital This is an 800 bed hospital which cost US$800 million. Cornwall Regional Hospital is a 400 bed hospital. To build a 400 bed hospital with all the modern equipment required I am estimating it will cost $US400 million. One of my friends who is an MD in Jamaica told me one of the main reasons for all the problems is the overcrowding. What if there was another public hospital located in Montego Bay, to relieve the pressure from Cornwall Regional, or as another friend suggested, what if there were 2 or 3 smaller hospitals of 40 beds? But I would think at least 10 more 40 bed hospitals, built over a 10 to 20 year period as part of a strategic plan to eliminate overcrowding. I am estimating a 40 bed hospital could cost US$40 million, then according to Google ( my most trusted source) there are about 80,000 people in Montego Bay. Can someone help me out with the facts? This comment was made by a healthcare professional. Now regarding his statement that "there are clinics and other hospitals equipped to handle the overflow". So now I want to know, Who is reponsible for educating the public about where they need to go while these renovations are being done?  And how well equipped are these other hospitals and clinics?  I also communicated with a former highschool mate who is now a medical doctor and this doctor told me something similar, that now that healthcare is free in Jamaica, everyone rushes to the hospital whether or not their case is an emergency. Now of course we are all happy that there is free healthcare, but now the healthcare management will have to develop a strategy to to handle the triage areas so that there is not overcrowding. So the questions that come to my mind are, Why dont people think that they should go to these other clinics that are available?  Do these other clinics offer the standard of care that
